Covet Bell MainAbout eight years ago, at a dear friend’s wedding in St. Barths, my girlfriends and I had one of those tipsy nights when we couldn’t stop giggling. The joke? A spoof cooking show hosted by yours truly, entitled ‘Cooking in Heels.’ It all stemmed from the fact that, quite frankly, I have a shoe obsession that rivals my cooking obsession. What’s really funny, is how life brings things full circle. Eight years later, after immersing myself in so many different disciplines – trying them on for size and figuring out who I want to be – cooking in heels has found its place in my world, again. Sometimes we really are reminded that the parts of us that add up to the sum – do have a common thread.

Styling food with shoes might seem like one of those ideas that only exists in dreams, but thanks to The Coveteur and Belle by Sigerson Morrison it’s become a reality. And a dream at the same time! What fun and crazy joy I had shopping local farm stands with specific shoes in mind! It’s amazing how many fall veggies and fruits pair so perfectly with the Belle shoes and booties. Grape Focaccia and Cherries meet Stacked-heel Booties. Fuchsia Heels meet Apple Pie. Black and Gold Flats meet Upside-down Pear Cake. Why not? Patent-leather pointies plus garlic and shallots? Yes please! And don’t forget Salumi, Beets and Belle. 100% perfection. I can honestly say, I was in foodie-shoe heaven cooking up these combinations, making sense of two things I adore thoroughly and whole-heartedly.
