Devour these Cookbooks!

I read cookbooks like I read novels. Cookbooks are to me what football is to most men on a Sunday. I can get lost in them for hours upon hours on a lazy Sunday afternoon.  It is without a doubt the visuals – the photography and the plating that act as the spark, igniting a creative launching ground which offers inspiration for families meals and for the creations on eyeswoon. The below four cookbooks commended my attention and were pre-ordered before their release.  Swoon with me in devouring their pages – the images, the recipes and the meals that they offer.

  1. Gjelina: Cooking from Venice, California by Travis Lett
    I don’t think I have been swooned by any restaurant EVER as much as the rustic epicurean experience I have engaged in at Gjelina.  The anticipation of this cookbooks arrival has me reeling!

    Crostini of any kind take center stage in my home, we are indeed bread lovers.  Slathered with ricotta, spiked with savory veggies, or sweetened with fruit and honey, this cookbook offers incredible seasonal toast treats.

  3. Tacos: Recipes and Provocations by Alex Stupak + Jordana Rothman
    You just can’t say no to a swoony taco loaded with all the fixins’.  Empellón Taqueria in New York City is a fave jaunt so acquiring the cookbook from the man behind the taco was a no brainer!

  4. Hartwood: Bright, Wild Flavors from the Edge of the Yucatán by Eric Werner & Mya Henry
    My initial experience at Hartwood was 6 years ago on my first plight to Tulum, Mexico – I was instantly enchanted.  The natural setting, the open kitchen, the lighting, the cocktails but most of all the wood-fired food are rooted in the magic of Mayan culture.  Through the vision and passion of Eric & Mya you feel instantly transported. Beautifully captured by my friends Andrea Gentl & Martin Hyres, the lush photography is simply breathtaking!
