Jennifer Fisher Guacamole!!!
July 9, 2013
Jennifer Fisher – I don’t know whether to begin with an introduction or an homage. Jennifer is simply a crazy inspiring woman. A talented genius when it comes to jewelry design, who is quite obviously taking over the fashion world with her uber-cool line that has earned a cult-following adorning most every fashion gal, celebrity, and stylish moms alike!
Our meeting was a long time in the making. A dear mutual friend Lori had been trying to connect us for years and recently so many arrows were pointing us to one another we couldn’t ignore it any longer. This past winter we finally connected at Jennifer’s showroom and discovered a deep, shared interest in all things style, design, food, fashion and family – we swooned for each other!
It’s funny how that happens. You meet someone new and suddenly you find yourself chatting, giggling and bonding instantly. Since starting Eye-Swoon, it’s become a catalyst for meeting incredible like-minded, creative women like Jen and for this I am beyond grateful.
At our 1st swoon-fest we shared our life stories – the creative journeys and inspirations that led us to find ourselves, and our paths. We discovered that we’d both had an epiphany later in life, after having our first children, that we both love to cook and that secretly, we’re both normal family gals – who like to dip our toes in the fashion world but are just as happy baking banana bread at home with the husbands we adore. What we both know with certitude is that our families ground us.
So there it was. A friendship born over food, jewelry, design, bananas, little league, arrows, love, inspiration, passion and, well…normalcy. For our Eye-Swoon date we chose not to make banana bread, but the famous guacamole from one of Jennifer’s favorite Mexican jaunts, El Toro Blanco, instead. As the photos clearly attest – avocadoes, knives, maracas and JF jewels in hand – we had the most incredible and fun day, laughing non-stop and making killer guac with Chef Josh Capon.
