10 Essentials: method Urban Metallics

Photography by Sarah Elliott

Our collective metal obsession began with brass and gold, hues so in demand and ubiquitous that many now consider them the “new neutrals.” From copper to pewter to rose gold—and then some—our tastes have expanded to embrace so many shiny surfaces. It’s clear metallics as a whole are having a moment, especially when they’re mixed. In homage to this reflective movement, we’ve joined forces with method to highlight their latest luminous soap, the Urban Metallics Limited Edition Collection.

It’s true what they say: boldness and confidence really are seductive! Gilded tones have made their mark on everything from furniture and decor to unexpected architectural elements like kitchen backsplashes and shingled roofs, and we’re utterly taken by the trend. Clad in copper, nickel, pewter and brass, method’s prismatic patterned soaps are the latest objects of our sheen-loving obsession.

Here we go—and stay tuned for another installment soon, in which we’ll share all the styling tips we developed while having an absolute field day with these gleaming method stars. SHINE ON, swooners!

They’re the new neutrals for the home. Artfully mixed metallic finishes express a “no-rules” approach to home décor. Let their lovely variation shine, literally, against any backdrop. For balance, cool metal tones beg to be paired with the warmth of wood. High sheen can be toned down with aged, time-worn finishes. As creative uses abound, the trend only seems to be accelerating. The possibilities are endless…
