NAME: Pilar Guzman

OCCUPATION: Editor-in-Chief of Conde Nast Traveler

DESTINATION: Hotel Timeo in Taormina, Sicily

WHY: The epic views overlooking the sea, the ancient Greek Theatre, and the active volcano of Mount Etna is hard to describe…and the hotel itself is magical, just the right blend of old and new.

DO: Take a drive to the Etna wine country. Planeta, one of the more forward-thinking wine producing families, just opened up a vineyard about 40 minutes west of Taormina in the foothills of Etna. That, and a drink overlooking the sea on Timeo’s terrace.

  1. STRIPED CHANCE TEE…classic, crisp and perfect for the Italian countryside.

  2. Slip on a pair of BARBARA SHAUM HANDMADE LEATHER SANDALS and head out for a day of Sicilian exploring.

  3. The pool at Hotel Timeo is absolutely divine and calls for a sexy little bikini like this one from LAURA URBANATI.

  4. And an easy breezy caftan, like this one from EMPORIO LE SIRENUSE in Positano.
