  • Ingredients

      • 500 grams all-purpose flour
      • 200 grams almonds
      • 180 grams sugar
      • 1 1/2 dl syrup (corn or cane)
      • 250 grams butter
      • 1 teaspoon baking soda
      • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
      • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
      • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
  • The Prep

    • Combine butter, sugar, syrup and spices in a saucepan and heat on low until sugar is completely dissolved.

      Mix flour, baking soda and coarsely chopped almonds in a mixing bowl. Add the warm butter/syrup/spice blend and form into a soft dough. Split into two pieces, wrap in plastic wrap and form a “log”. Refrigerate until dough has hardened.
      Slice into as thin of slices as possible. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 5 to 8 minutes at 325 degrees until light brown. Remove the warm cookies from the baking sheet and place on a rack to cool.
