His use of architectural form and organic silhouettes channels a laid back vocabulary and singular sophistication. The Surface Sconce is cast in solid aluminium to create a distinctive, ambient light in dueling sculptural halves. Reflective of the intuitive complexity of Wilson’s style, this grounded, contemporary lighting accessory offers evocative, aligned composition and subtle illumination within any space. As each casting is manufactured in small batches of natural aluminium, rumble finished for a smooth texture. A natural material, the aluminium will arrive with a matte silver finish, built to develop a rich patina as the accessory oxidizes with age and reveals wear over time. To restore finish to like-new finish or remove fingerprints, simply apply a gentle coat of metal polish with a cloth. While form and function are evident, there is a definite emotive connection, a feeling that is conveyed in the work that sets him apart. “I like to explore how imperfection can be introduced into an industrial process, to make something at scale that retains a sense of individual charm.”
