Surface Sconce Blackened Bronze

$2,225

Sydney-based designer, Henry Wilson, creates iconic and unfettered home offerings in natural materials inspired by the raw landscape of Australia. His use of architectural form and organic silhouettes channels a laid back vocabulary and singular sophistication. The Surface Sconce is cast in solid blackened bronze to create a moody, ambient light solution in dueling sculptural halves. Reflective of the intuitive complexity of Wilson’s style, this grounded, contemporary lighting accessory offers evocative, aligned composition and warm illumination within any space. As each casting is manufactured in small batches of natural bronze, with blackened finish achieved as the result of a heat treatment. This beautiful lamp has been designed in a sconce style for your side table, credenza, or pedestal. Please note variations will occur from piece to piece including production interactions in the way of slight pour ripples or surface pitting. A natural material, the bronze will arrive with a blackened matte finish, built to develop a rich, deepened patina as the accessory oxidizes with age and takes on wear over time. To restore finish to like-new patina, simply apply a gentle coat of metal polish with a cloth. Available in Classico Travertine, Black Travertine, Aluminum, Blackened Bronze and Bronze finish.

About the Artist

Studio Henry Wilson

Australian designer, Henry Wilson’s interest in the “awkward beauty that comes from something made by hand” informs the direction of his furniture, lighting, accessories, and components collection. While form and function are evident, there is a definite emotive connection, a feeling that is conveyed in the work that sets him apart. “I like to explore how imperfection can be introduced into an industrial process, to make something at scale that retains a sense of individual charm.”
