My creative collaboration with Nicky and Simone of Zimmermann is rooted in 6+ years of friendship — it continues to unfold with each event we craft together. I love how we have this mutual appreciation, synergy, and absolute trust in one another’s creativity. Nothing makes me happier than to dive into the brand DNA of Zimmermann and reinterpret their vision for fashion through my lens for food, design, and entertaining.

An Intimate Beach Dinner With Zimmermann
When designing and envisioning the table setting, the first step was to pull inspiration from an identifiable Zimmermann pattern. We turned a yellow dress motif reminiscent of the sunset into scalloped edge napkins for the tablescape. And when I began to look back at my history (okay, fine, obsession) wearing Zimmermann white eyelet dresses over the years, I knew that our 60-foot table couldn’t be draped in anything other than a custom eyelet Zimmermann tablecloth!
The inspiration for the florals came directly from the surrounding wild foliage found in the Amagansett dunes surrounding Malcolm’s beach house—sea grass, beach plum, dainty and delicate Queen Anne’s lace, which is basically a weed (hahaha) was the anchor for the blooms that draped their way down the table, exceptionally executed by local floral designer, Missi Flowers. Most everything in fact was local—even the rocks that held down our menus and name cards were gathered from the beach.
With Nicky and Simone being unable to attend, I wanted them to have a presence in every facet of this dinner. The meal was inspired by Australian barbecue, which was crafted alongside my long-term creative collaborator, Jamie of Poppy’s Catering.
Creative direction, collaboration, and unifying my love of food and design is truly what makes my heart sing and I could not be more excited with how this night magically came together. After not being able to do what I love so dearly for almost two years, this Zimmermann event was most certainly the dreamiest welcome back into creating beauty around a table and gathering with friends—certainly one for the books!
