Athena Calderone has made a career out of her
boundless quest for beauty—all that makes the eye
swoon. An accomplished creative director, author,
interior designer, chef, and entertaining expert,
she began her multifaceted journey in the kitchen
where she honed an ability to gracefully juxtapose
flavors, textures, and hues. Her distinctive
approach, rooted in simplicity and thoughtful
execution, soon expanded to all facets of the
home, and the art of living.
In 2021, Athena designed a line of 12 rugs with
Beni, and last year, she launched a hugely
successful furniture and tabletop collection with
Crate & Barrel featuring 100+ pieces.
She is the best-selling author of two books, both
published by Abrams. Her design tome,
Live Beautiful, has sold more than 250,000 copies and
remains the #1 décor book on Amazon, and her
Cook Beautiful, was honored with a James Beard Award. Her
More Than One Thing, features interviews with multi-hyphenate
talents like herself, and it regularly ranks in
Apple’s top 100.
Athena has been featured in publications such as
Vogue, Architectural Digest, The New York
Times, Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair,
Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Elle Decor, and New
York magazine. As an internationally recognized tastemaker,
she has graced the covers of
Vogue Living, Architectural Digest Spain, and Livingetc. She is a recurring guest
on The Today Show.
Since 2012, we have invited you to join us in the
ceremony of cultivating beauty on EyeSwoon.
As a community, we celebrate our overlapping
passions of food and design, and the home is what
unifies them both. Your ardent support of this
creative venture has not only inspired us
endlessly over the years, but it has also forged
this beautiful symbiotic relationship of personal
growth and trust.
This was the impetus for EyeSwoon 2.0—a thoughtful
curation of artful objects intended for everyday
use that deserves pride of place at home. The
ritual of setting a table, cooking a delicious
meal, or arranging decorative objects has the
ability to enrich even the most everyday
experiences. Our evolving edit brings beauty to
life with its timeless array of handmade treasures
and modern necessities.
"The only thing better than the thrill of the hunt
is the thrill of the find. I take pride in
curating a beautiful home with artful objects that
evoke emotion. EyeSwoon is my way of sharing these
finds, so you can make them your own." — Athena
Calderone, Founder, EyeSwoon.
