The BASICS: Coffee Table Books That Double as Decorative Objects

If there was ever a sounding board we could all rely on during our own design evolution, it’s the humble coffee table book. These iconic tomes provide intimate counsel with the greats throughout history, helping to clarify, inspire, and direct us with the turn of a page. So, when our imagination wanes, you know where to find us… yep, nose deep in the creative chronicles of our favorite designers, artists, and masters, seeking out their impeccably curated, well-traveled, and soulfully executed taste level until we achieve our own “aha” moment.

Aside from the content, we also want our coffee table books to walk the talk, as in, the inside should be reflected on the outside. If you’ve been coming here for a while, you’ll know that we’re fans of fusing beauty with utility, so obviously, our favorite books also double as decorative accents. Need to elevate a unique objet d’art? Stack a few hard-cover books under it. Want to break up the symmetry of a monotonous vignette? Create varying heights by placing a vase atop a coffee table book or two. There really is no limit. Ready to get started? Keep scrolling for some of our favorites to add to your own collection.
