Room Swoon: Studio LifeStyle’s Dreamy Neutral Bedroom
Words by Sacha Strebe.
The world demands so much of our time, energy, and attention, so it’s vital we craft a space that doesn’t ask anything of us. The Studio Lifestyle team had this sentiment in mind when they designed this bedroom. The stylish sanctuary invites you to breathe, to unwind, to romance the self, and regale in the art of leisure. After all, isn’t that what we all need right now? They achieved this mood-altering effect by layering neutral, earthy tones borrowed from Mother Nature. This visual lightness offers a welcome reprieve from the noise and chaos that ensues beyond those four walls.

“The neutral tones are given depth by mixing in different materials such as linen, suede, wood, and silk.”

Describe this room in 3 words:
Serene, approachable, and balanced.
What was the inspiration behind this room design?
We wanted to give our clients a very peaceful primary bedroom where they could unwind and relax at the end of the day. Our goal was for it to feel light and airy but also comfortable and livable.
Please share a fun anecdote about the design process?
The construction of this home was challenging at times but the completion of this room came together quite easily! Our client has great taste and was a dream to work with. The neutral tones are given depth by mixing in different materials such as linen, suede, wood, and silk.
What is your favorite thing about this room?
The beautiful black olive tree in the corner. Bringing something living into the space is always the final icing on the cake that completes a room for us.
What is your favorite piece of furniture/décor in the room?
The Nickey Kehoe club chairs are just the perfect size and shape. They are both petite and extremely comfortable! I love how they look at the foot of the bed.
Three tips for decorating an interior you always follow:
- Adding layers to a space by mixing different materials and textures.
- Always bring something living into the room like a tree or small plant.
