EASTER EGGS – SWOONIFIED!

Chic, sweet and simple is what we tend to go for when dreaming up Easter egg designs. That’s probably why we’re just as excited about this DIY today as we were when we originally shared it a couple of years ago. The results have swoon-worthy gentle tones, perfect for the start of spring.

There is something subtly swoony about the soft hue that naturally dyed Easter eggs achieve. Both eco-conscious and inexpensive, this homespun DIY approach to dying eggs uses natural ingredients like cabbage, beets and turmeric.

I chose to offset these palest of pastel tones by using a super simple fine tip sharpie to draw directly onto the eggs. Get crafty with a variety of swirls or geometric shapes (arrows, x’s, dots, lines, circles, hearts, zig zag’s) in repetition. Have fun and get creative with these – you can even play with writing a loved ones name, a sweet message, or a baby face – skies the limit!
