Hand Crafted Ceramics

  1. CLAM LAB is a line of handcrafted ceramics made right here in the Brooklyn workshop of designer Clair Catillaz. The collection celebrates the creative evolution of small batch production and the delicate tension instilled by the maker’s hand.

  2. Eric Bonnin is a true artist!  I first discovered him at Warm in NYC – I was instantly swooned.  Eric has been working with clay ever since moving to New York City from Paris in 1994. When creating his pieces Eric’s aim is to combine functionality with simple decorative elements and motifs. All Eric Bonnin Ceramics are handmade in New York City using traditional techniques.  His stunning ceramics are a part of my personal collection for my Amagansett home. Photo credit – Andrea Gentl

  3. JIM FRANCO is a NYC-based photographer who had an obsession for hand-crafted ceramics.  Now he makes them. A self-taught potter, Jim’s ceramics are known for their versatility, elegance and graceful organic lines. An artist whose talents span many creative disciplines, Jim has said that his photography has informed his ceramic work; resulting in hand crafted functional creations with an unfettered design aesthetic and painterly glaze.  Photo credit – Andrea Gentl

  4. Speck and Stone is a current obsession of mine.  Created by the insanly talanted Hanna Slade Wood whom I discovered through Instagram.  After swooning her nature inspired stoneware, which I have used for various EyeSwoon shoots, I knew I needed to appreciate their beauty every day – they are now part of my personal ceramic collection. Speck and Stone is hand thrown in Toronto using grey stoneware and mid porcelain clay bodies. Hanna is clearly inclined to neutral colors with matte finishes and has a deep appreciation for textures that make something beautiful to touch and to look at.
