Designed by Athena Calderone for the inaugural Saratoga Supper Club, this pair of custom glassware evokes the beauty, purity, and connectivity of water. Offered in two distinct forms—one still, one sparkling—the designs draw on ancient glassblowing techniques from Japan to Italy. The still water glass, Halcyon features a subtly fluted surface reminiscent of rushing water. For the sparkling vessel, Ephemera, bubbles were captured in the blown glass to emulate the motion of carbonization. Both glasses have a dainty base that dramatically flares out at the mouth. Expertly produced by glassblower, Andrew Iannazzi, each vessel is handmade and therefore subtly different, with slight variations in size and shape. Together, these complimentary tabletop additions offer a visual reprieve and a moment of pause, elevating something as simple as drinking a glass of water.
